A special prayer service was held at 9:30 pm at the Basilica on the 25th March as Pope Francis simultaneously called for prayer globally. Bishop John led devotees in an act of consecration to the Immaculate heart of Mary for world peace, especially between Russia and Ukraine. Cardinal Oswald too conducted prayers at the Holy Name Cathedral. After the conclusion of the rosary devotees accompanied Bishop Rodrigues to the oratory across the basilica and lit 'diyas' (mini candles) which symbolized peace.
